“Guys from Busan are not friendly with their women.”

Bacon

Hahahaha. And now he‘s spouting off about how they think Seoul men are girly. Appropriate for conversations going around right now.

(via hotyellowfellows)

I have no idea what this is in regards to.

To be fair, I feel like it’s not so much about friendliness as it is about cluelessness. Once clued in, there comes the brooding and self-flagellation. 경상도남… nothing to be done.

Not reblogging with nice format on my phone. I was asking if he noticed differences in guys from Seoul and the rest of Korea, and he broke out with this and then continued to go on and on about how everyone hates Seoul guys. He also said his cousins in Busan complain that guys in Seoul are way too nice to their girlfriends.

Not sure if it’s just a thing between him and his cousins or if it’s just a regional joke/jab/stereotype. Or if he‘s just trying to score brownie points.

I’m not sure I want to know what “Too nice to their girlfriends” is supposed to mean. How can you be “Too nice” to your romantic partner? What?

According to Bacon: “They’re not up front with their emotions. They don’t say ‘I love you’ as freely as Seoul guys. They’re not as nice with their words. If you look up 경상도 guys, there are lots of videos about them. It’s a comedy thing. But it doesn’t mean that they don’t like you. They’re just not as fancy. Some guys are, but what people think about the guys from Busan or Gyeongsang province. Just stereotypes.”

I think it’s just kind of like how people in the South are inbred hicks, people in California are hippies, New Yorkers are elitist intellectuals, the Welsh are sheep fuckers, etc. Maybe it’s more like the Gyeongsang guys think Seoul guys are pussywhipped, but Bacon just wanted to use nicer terms.

He offered to link and translate some of them, or at least give the gist of some of the rants and jokes.
