Computer question!

My computer is totally dead. The hard drive is okay, but the logic board is fried. Protip: don’t try to turn your laptop on if you spill liquid on it! I’ve been schlepping my work laptop back and forth every day, and Bacon has offered to bring one of his desktops to my apartment. I’m starting to actually lean toward buying a new one, though.

But.

I want to go traveling after my contract and don’t want to bring my laptop with me. I Googled shipping laptops home, and apparently you can’t send computers through the mail. It’s too big of a risk, according to the Korean Post Office, and customs sometimes seizes them in the USA.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Or, people who’ve traveled, what have you done with your computers?

  2. seouladrift answered: You can ship through FedEx. A bunch of friends have done it and that’s my plan when I’m done. I think it’s like $150.
